Our mission is to grow our skills in in mechanical engineering, software engineering, and business & marketing while participating in FTC. We aim to work hard, learn, and always show strong sportsmanship.
We also want to expand our impact through outreach. By teaching children who are interested in STEM and sharing our journey, we hope to raise awareness about FIRST, so more kids can discover robotics, problem-solving, and teamwork.
We plan on accomplishing our mission by using our creative minds to solve problems we face as a team. We plan on learning new topics and helping one another when we get stuck.
To raise awareness about STEM and FIRST, we plan on hosting events and teaching the next generation about what we do. Currently, we have been performing outreach activities in our community to inspire young kids to join robotics.
This year's FTC Challenge, DECODE pushes teams to create robots that combine precision, creativity, and problem solving. For Lightning Machines, it’s an opportunity to experiment with new ideas and explore new concepts in robot design, automation, and coding.
Our goal this season is to create a reliable robot while mastering the basics and fundamentals of FTC robotics.
We worked as a team for approximately 3 hours per day for 3 days in order to build Sparky! We also consider it as a part of our team, and we hope to use it to help us improve our software and mechanical skills. In the future, we plan to make changes to help Sparky grow even more, and to help us grow with it.
Lightning Machines aims to grow not just as competitors, but as innovators.
We hope to use our FTC experience to strengthen our understandings of technology and engineering, contribute to our community, and inspire others to explore STEM.
